Onslow Art Society "Images 2009" Art Show Winners!

The Claire Armstrong Best in Show was awarded to Mitchell Morton of Hubert for his acrylic painting, "Untouched" and the Claire Armstrong Endowment Award went to Johnnie Lee Scott of Richlands for "Chandler House," a Book Art. The Onslow Art Society Memorial Award was won by Mark Scott of Hampstead for a Mixed Media, "The Foolish One. " The Onslow County Artist Award went to Stephen Greer of Jacksonville for an Acrylic, "January Privet."

An Award of Excellence was given to: Pat Boni of Stella for "Blue Cedar," an Oil; Terry Rosenfelder of Wilmington for "Points of View", an Oil; Dixie Liebert of Morehead City for "Focused," a Watercolor; George Cole of Jacksonville for "My Guarded Heart," Mixed Media Sculpture.

An Award of Merit was presented to: Jean Wenner of Jacksonville for "Grapes," a Pastel; Penny Craven of Kinston for "Autumn Strut," an Oil; Bernie Rosage of Jacksonville for "Surf City Swing Bridge," an oil; Patricia Eilers Carlson of Jacksonville for "September Song," a Watercolor.

Honorable Mentions went to: Barbara Kneher of Jacksonville for "Beirut Rose," Photography; Connie Burke of Jacksonville for "Yellow Trees," a Monoprint; Johnnie Lee Scott of Richland for "Trailer Trash," an Intaglio; Rachel House of Jacksonville for "Reflections of a Woman," a Photograph; M. Matheson Smith of Wilmington for "Just Keep Swimming," a Paper Sculpture; Georgia Mason of Emerald Isle for "Floating Blossoms," Water Media.

Fifty-two artists entered the show with a total of 132 pieces of work. The juror selected 52 works to hang.
